Seeds to Success

Townsville City Council’s Seeds to Success initiative supports local primary schools in connecting with nature through hands on learning in native plant growing and kitchen garden projects.

2026 Participants

Congratulations to the six schools selected to participate in this new initiative. Each school will establish a garden project designed to enhance student learning and nurture environmental awareness.

Package 1: Kitchen Garden

Bohlevale State School
Ryan Catholic College
Willows State School

These schools will receive a 2-year membership to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, supporting food education focusing on the flavours and health benefits of fresh, seasonal food.

Package 2: Native Garden

Oonoonba State School
Townsville South State School
Townsville Grammar School – North Shore

This package includes a mix of 25 local native plants, a native Bee Workshop delivered by the Townsville & District Beekeepers Association and a bee hotel for each student in the participating class.
