Advisory Committees
Council have a number of advisory committees, which are responsible for reporting to Council on specialised matters.
The Arts & Culture Advisory Comittee's purpose is to provide information and advice about current and emerging arts and culture related matters to Townsville City Council for the purpose of decision-making and planning.
The City Image Advisory Committee will consider and advise council in relation to strategy and policy for the City Image.
The Community Safety Advisory Committee will identify and advise Council on current and emerging community safety and crime prevention concerns within the community.
The Heritage Advisory Committee has an interest in issues relating to cultural heritage in Townsville. It serves as a means of providing community engagement, feedback, and project development to council, in keeping with the goals of the Townsville City Council Operational Plan regarding heritage matters.
The Inclusive Community Advisory Committee (ICAC) has been established to provide advice to Council on current and emerging issues and policy matters within the Townsville Community.
The role of the Innovation and Business Advisory Committee is to provide pathways to and from Council to assist with effective decision making on employment and economic opportunities being made through innovation and by local businesses in Townsville.
