Advisory Committees

Council have a number of advisory committees, which are responsible for reporting to Council on specialised matters.

Arts & Culture Advisory Committee

The Arts and Culture Advisory Committee's purpose is to provide information and advice about current and emerging arts and culture related matters to Townsville City Council for the purpose of decision-making and planning.

City Image Advisory Committee

The City Image Advisory Committee will consider and advise council in relation to strategy and policy for the City Image.

Community Safety Advisory Committee

The Community Safety Advisory Committee will identify and advise Council on current and emerging community safety and crime prevention concerns within the community.

Heritage Advisory Committee

The Heritage Advisory Committee has an interest in issues relating to cultural heritage in Townsville. It serves as a means of providing community engagement, feedback, and project development to council, in keeping with the goals of the Townsville City Council Operational Plan regarding heritage matters.

Inclusive Community Advisory Committee

The Inclusive Community Advisory Committee (ICAC) has been established to provide advice to Council on current and emerging issues and policy matters within the Townsville Community.

Innovation & Business Advisory Committee

The role of the Innovation and Business Advisory Committee is to provide pathways to and from Council to assist with effective decision making on employment and economic opportunities being made through innovation and by local businesses in Townsville.

Murray User Group Advisory Committee

The Murray User Group Advisory Committee will provide strategic direction maximising usage and potential for the sporting groups and facilities at the Murray Sports Precinct.
