Community Safety Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Community Safety Advisory Committee is a community engagement body that will assist in identifying, and offering advice on current and emerging community safety and crime prevention concerns within the community, providing feedback on Council projects and initiatives relevant to the community.

Membership

The maximum voting membership of the Committee will be 14 persons, including the maximum two (2) Councillors one (1) being the Chairperson.

Membership of the Committee is voluntary, final appointment of Members is endorsed by Council.

In addition to the appointed voting Members, guest advisory members may be invited to join the Committee on a case-by-case basis based on their specialist knowledge/skills and topics being discussed within the Committee.

Due to the specific technical knowledge and community connections required to inform the conversations of the CSAC, voting membership for the CSAC has been undertaken by invitation.

How else can you be involved?

To encourage and support an inclusive approach to this committee, members of the committee and the general public have the opportunity to submit agenda items for consideration.

Submit an agenda item

Agenda item requests are to be submitted at least four weeks before the meeting for assessment and investigation by the CSAC Advisory Committee Meeting Facilitator for addition to the CSAC agenda. Items received after the agenda deadline will be assessed for the next advisory committee meeting.
