PFAS Analysis
Per and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are artificially manufactured chemicals that have been used in Australia for more than 50 years.
PFAS compounds are described as emerging environmental pollutants because of their persistence, mobility and bio-accumulative properties.
Recent interest in these compounds has encouraged monitoring in drinking water, groundwater, sewage effluent and various environmental samples.
The scope of Townsville Laboratory Services’ (TLS) NATA accredited PFAS analysis includes:
- waters for potable and domestic purposes
- bore water (ground water)
- surface water including seawater
- trade waste
- waste water
The scope also includes the following related compounds:
- perfluoroalkane carboxylic acid
- perfluoroalkane sulfonic acids
- perfluoroalkane sulfonamides
- fluorotelomer sulfonic acids
- Gen-X (HFPO dimer)
- NaDONA
- 9Cl-PF3ONS
- 11ClPF3OUdS
