Pool Water Analysis

Townsville Laboratory Services (TLS) provides analytical services to pool operators, in accordance with Queensland Government guidelines for the management and safe operation of swimming pools and spas.

Good management of swimming pools and spas ensures that patrons are not subject to health risks and is applicable to both private and public operators.

TLS’s pool water testing capability includes:

• E. coli analysis
• Pseudomonas aeruginosa analysis
• heterotrophic plate count
• disinfection levels
• corrosiveness of pool water
• analysis of suspected contaminants.

Routine analysis is especially important for pools with high visitation numbers, particularly in summer months.

Continued monitoring of pool water quality is also important to determining the effectiveness of a disinfection program.
