Water Analysis
Townsville Laboratory Services (TLS) has been monitoring Townsville City Council’s potable water system for over 30 years, ensuring water quality from catchment areas to the end user.
TLS provides monitoring and sampling systems for:
- catchments and their tributaries
- water treatment plants
- storage reservoirs and downstream treatment points
- residences and end users
- bores and private wells
- irrigation systems
Services include:
- sample collection and preservation
- in situ and field analysis
- disinfection by-products and organics
- microbiological – E. coli, total plate count and algae identification
- full metals suite
Equipped with a variety of service vehicles, TLS can sample remote points for operational monitoring compliance:
- councils – water testing from catchment to end user
- construction – bore testing
- private households – bore and tank samples for consumption or irrigation.

Operating Hours
Townsville Laboratory Services are open:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4pm.
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed.
