Townsville City Council is proud to be part of the Live and Local program – a celebration of homegrown music, creativity, and community.

In collaboration with The Live Music Office, APRA AMCOS, QMusic, and proudly supported by Flinders Lane, this initiative is all about strengthening Townsville’s live music scene. Over the past year, the program has delivered an industry forum, professional development workshops, and a showcase of emerging talent.

Sounds on Flinders – Celebrated Local Music

On Saturday 8 November 2025, Townsville’s city heart pulsed with live music as Sounds on Flinders brought together artists, venues, and music lovers for a full day and night of performances. From the Flinders Square Stage to intimate laneway sets, the event showcased the incredible depth of local talent and the strength of our creative community.

Sounds on Flinders was more than a festival – it provided a platform for Townsville’s musicians to shine, connect, and grow. By celebrating homegrown talent, we’re working towards building a vibrant music culture that keeps our city alive and thriving.
