The ultimate Summer School Holiday Guide is available now!

Date published: 5 December 2018

Townsville City Council’s Summer School Holiday Guide has officially launched in time for the end of the school year.

The guide is a free publication created by Council that features free or low-cost activities suitable for families over the summer break.

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the School Holiday Guide is a fantastic resource for parents.

“We know how hard it can be to keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays,” Cr Hill said.

“That’s why we work with local organisations and community groups to provide a publication full of free and low-cost activities.

“The guide is filled with ways to help families beat the boredom and the weather, with a range of indoor and outdoor activities.”

Community Cultural and Development Committee Chair Cr Colleen Doyle said the guide is a great way to support both families and local organisations.

“The summer holidays can be a stressful and expensive time for families – the School Holiday Guide provides a list of budget-friendly activities for families to enjoy,” Cr Doyle said.

“It also gives local groups a chance to advertise for free and increase the attendance of their summer events.”
