The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow rolls into Townsville from Thursday night.

The roving comedy show will take the stage at the Riverway Arts Centre with national and international comedians providing 3 nights of stand-up, sketches, satire and song.

Community and Cultural Development Committee Chair Councillor Colleen Doyle said residents should pick their tickets up now to avoid missing out.

“The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow has been making the trip to Townsville for years now and it is always a great night out,” Cr Doyle said.

“This is a piece of one of the largest comedy festivals in the world right on our door step – I’d encourage everyone to buy a ticket, have a few laughs and enjoy the show.

“Holding shows with big name acts like the Festival Roadshow is great for Townsville – it draws in visitors from surrounding areas and provides a boost for local businesses.”

Confirmed guests include MC Sam Taunton, Brennan Reece from the UK, and Australian comedians Dane Simpson, Gillian Cosgriff and Steph Tisdell.

The show is rated 15+ and tickets are available to purchase now through the TicketShop or online with prices starting from $25.
