Council going barking mad for Howl-o-ween

Date published: 17 October 2018

Townsville City Council is lifting spirits this October, offering residents a discount on adoption fees for all dogs available at the Animal Shelter this Howl-o-ween.

There are over 20 adult dogs and puppies available for adoption at a discounted fee from 29 October to 3 November.

Community Health and Environment Committee Chair Cr Ann-Maree Greaney said the Howl-o-ween sale will save residents $50 on their new furbaby.

“Adult dogs are available for adoption for $200 and puppies for $300 which is a significant saving for anyone wanting to give one of our dogs a fur-ever home,” Cr Greaney said.

“There are some amazing dogs up for adoption looking for a loving home.”

Cr Greaney said all animals are microchipped, desexed and vaccinated before they are adopted out.

“If anyone loses their pet, they can be contacted and reunited in no time,” Cr Greaney said.
“Council encourages responsible pet ownership and people need to understand that adopting a pet is a long-term decision.”

You can adopt your new dog at Council Animal Shelter – 69 Tompkins Road, Shaw.

If people wish to adopt a pet they will need to ensure that their property is pet friendly.
