Townsville Local Disaster Management Group moves to Alert

The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group has moved to ‘Alert’ as the wet weather continues.
Townsville Local Disaster Management Group Chair Mayor Jenny Hill said there is a chance the rain will continue into next week.
“Townsville is currently experiencing decent rain this wet season and we are monitoring our rivers and any localised flooding,” Cr Hill said.
“This type of weather is typically normal during the wet season, but we do urge residents to remain cautious.
“The Townsville Local Disaster Management Group will continue to update the community with any new information as we receive it.”
Sand and sand bags are available in the car park opposite Council’s Dalrymple Road depot.
