Vendors urged to register interest for this year’s Pet Expo

Food vendors, exhibitors and suppliers are invited to apply to take part in the Townsville Pet Expo, now in a brand new location.

The Townsville City Council event will be held at Anderson Botanic Gardens on Sunday, 14 June and centres around how people living in Townsville can be even better responsible pet owners.

A Council spokesperson said this was a great event for pet-focused exhibitors to sign up for.

“Pet Expo always has a huge turn out and we want to be able to deliver a wide variety of exhibitors with interesting products or services for our attendees to take a look at on the day,” the spokesperson said.

“Last year we had more than 60 exhibitors who provided something for every pet owner who came along on the day.

“We’re opening the call to anyone who has an animal-related organisation, whether it’s animal behaviour experts, groomers, vets or anyone else wanting to get involved.”

The spokesperson said there were also plenty of fun activities, and maybe a couple of surprises, planned for the June event.

“In the past we’ve had arena performances and a visit from farmyard animals for children to cuddle,” they said.

“We’ve also had agility courses, the crowning of Mr and Mrs Pet Expo and of course the Small Paws Sprint so if you have a special pet please bring them along.”

Townsville Pet Expo will be held from 9am to 3pm on Sunday 14 June at Anderson Botanic Gardens at Pimlico.
