Eats to feed stampede for final Cowboys’ home games

Townsville City Council is getting behind the Cowboys and helping to cheer on the team during their run in to the finals by putting on Townsville Eats events for the last two home games of the regular season.

The first is on tomorrow (19 August 2022) ahead of the New Zealand Warriors trip to Townsville, with another Eats event on before the final game of the season on Saturday 3 September 2022 when Cowboys host ladder leaders the Penrith Panthers.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said Townsville Eats was the perfect way to get together and get ready to cheer on the boys.

“The Cowboys have had a great season and we expect to see Queensland Country Bank Stadium packed to the rafters with supporters to back the side on the run in the NRL finals,” Cr Greaney said.

“This Friday’s Townsville Eats kicks off at 4pm along Flinders Street East and will have live entertainment, food trucks, roving performers and more.

“It is a great opportunity to get something to eat, soak in some of the atmosphere and get pumped for a big night of footy action.”

Meanwhile, the Townsville Eats for the Cowboys v Panthers game will shift to Flinders Street CBD.
