Join Paddington’s trip to Peru at this week’s Riverway Movie Night

Date published: 16 October 2025

This free, family-centric event, run on the third Friday of every month, returns this week with a screening of Paddington in Peru.

In this third instalment of the much-loved Paddington series, everyone’s favourite spectacled bearreturns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears.

With the Brown family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges the travellers into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and to the mountain peaks of Peru.

Divisional councillor Suzy Batkovic said Riverway Movie Nights were the perfect way to ease into the weekend for the entire family.

“Riverway Movie Nights are a great chance to spend time with the family under the stars,” Cr Batkovic said.

“Before things heat up and we still have cool evenings to enjoy, head along this Friday to our open-air cinema and watch a great movie.

“We will have a food truck on site, as well as an ice cream truck for late night sweets.

“This terrific all-ages event really is for everyone and the best thing about being located on the Riverway Oval is the kids can run riot and shake off any excess energy.

“With a viewing time of under two hours you can all be home and in bed by 9pm, which I know is important for the parents of younger kids.

“We welcome everyone, from the young to the young at heart, to pack a picnic blanket and some snacks and head along and enjoy a free, wholesome night out this Friday night.”

Paddington in Peru will be screened from 7pm this Friday, October 17, at Riverway Oval.
