ACAC pup stars ready for red carpet

Tails will be wagging and tales will be weaved when Townsville’s very own top dogs make a special guest appearance at this Wednesday’s screening of the Top Dog Film Festival at Warrina Cineplex.
Puppies from Council’s Animal Care and Adoption Centre (ACAC) will be ready to greet festivalgoers and connect with dog lovers who might be on the lookout for their new furever friend ahead of the 7pm screening.
Councillor Brodie Phillips said this was a fun way for Council to connect with members of the community who might want to adopt a pooch.
“The Top Dog Film Festival is a very well-attended festival that travels right across the globe, so it’s very exciting to be able to partner with them to showcase our adoptable pups,” Cr Phillips said.
“Our ACAC team puts a lot of work into making sure all of our puppies and dogs are ready to go home with their new families. Each animal is desexed, wormed, treated with flea and tick prevention, vet checked, microchipped and is up to date with their vaccinations. The team also makes sure our dogs and puppies have had a ProHeart injection to help keep each pup healthy.
“There’s nothing like coming home to a wagging tail, so I’d really encourage anyone who’s considering adding a furry friend to their family to check out the animals available for adoption at the ACAC.”
Adventure Reels founder Jemima Robinson said the whole team was thrilled to be bringing Top Dog Film Festival back to Townsville this week.
"We're thrilled to welcome the Townsville City Council Animal Care and Adoption Centre to our screening this Wednesday,” Ms Robinson said.
“One of the most rewarding parts of the Top Dog Film Festival is partnering with local adoption organisations and giving them the chance to connect with a room full of passionate dog lovers. If even one dog finds its forever home because of these events, it's something we're incredibly proud of. It's a true win-win—for the dogs, the adoption centre, and our audience."
