Stadium Event Parking
Queensland Country Bank Stadium events, such as Cowboys home games, bring great economic benefits to our city centre and local businesses. Due to their popularity, some event traffic and parking restrictions apply to help keep Townsville City easily accessible to the people who live and work in the city.
City Parking and Street Closures
- Dean Street Carpark is closed from 2pm. Alternative parking is available in Townsville City. All vehicles in the Dean Street Carpark need to be removed prior to 2pm or risk being towed at owners’ expense.
- Lowths Bridge on Stanley Street is closed before and during events due to pedestrian traffic.

Restricted Parking
The following restrictions apply to on-street parking only, including driveways from the kerb to your property boundary. They do not apply to vehicles parked within your property.
Notes about restricted parking:
- Parking in the Stadium Event Restricted Parking Areas is regulated for one hour before, until one hour after, the advertised start time of an event at the stadium.
- If the event is an NRL game, the parking regulations will apply from one hour before, until one hour after, the advertised start time of the main game.
- Fines are issued to owners of vehicles that are parked for longer than the permitted time without a registered permit.
All other parking restrictions – such as 'no standing' zones, taxi zones, bus zones, and disability parking permit zones – continue to apply.

Parking Permits
Stadium Event Residential Parking Permits are issued to:
- Ensure residents are still able to park on their streets.
- Help minimise the impact event patrons have on surrounding suburbs.
