Invictus flag raised to honour Defence heroes

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill has today raised the Invictus Games flag at the Council Forecourt for the Games that are being held in Sydney from tomorrow.
Mayor Jenny Hill said 9 Townsville locals have been selected to represent Australia in the Invictus Games 2018.
“It is great to see 9 representatives from our city involved in such a special event like the Invictus Games,” Cr Hill said.
“Council is proud of our local competitors and we are raising the Invictus Games flag to show our support for these talented athletes.
“Townsville will be cheering on our men and women competing in the Games – they are certainly an inspiration to our community.”
The flag will be raised until the October 27 when the Games come to an end.
