UPDATE: Burst water main, Charters Towers Road

Townsville City Council continues to work to repair damage caused by a burst water main on Charters Towers Road near the intersection with Bowen Road.
The water main burst early yesterday (Sunday) morning. Council crews worked to isolate the damaged pipe and begin the clean-up.
Crews have returned to the site today to finish repairing the main and the road surface. Traffic detours will be in place around the area, with motorists urged to seek alternative routes around the area.
A number of nearby businesses experienced water inundation as a result of the burst water main. Council crews are continuing to assist these businesses with the clean-up. Providing support and communicating with those affected continues to be a priority.
