Electrical Technical Specifications & Drawings
Townsville City Council has developed a comprehensive Electrical Specification Manual (ESM) to ensure consistency, safety, and quality in all electrical projects across Council facilities. The following manuals provides clear guidance for Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers, outlining the standards and requirements for electrical design, installation, and maintenance. By publishing these specifications, Council aims to support best practice and compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
The ESM is a structured collection of thirteen (13) technical specifications that covers most aspect of electrical works, including installation, design, switchboards, high-voltage distribution, auxiliary power supplies, motor control centres, instrumentation, control systems, and pump station requirements. It also includes a preferred equipment list and templates for documentation.
Together, these documents form the foundation for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient electrical infrastructure for Townsville City Council. They represent Council’s commitment to transparency, compliance and continuous improvement. We encourage all stakeholders to review the specifications and apply them in the planning and execution of electrical works.
