Competition to crack the da Vinci code

Date published: 20 December 2016

Townsville City Council is giving one lucky family the chance to win a $20,000 holiday to the home of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy.

To coincide with the Da Vinci Machines exhibition currently on display at Pinnacles Gallery, council is running a competition that will see people of all ages trying to crack the da Vinci code.

To enter, participants must pick up an entry form from Pinnacles Gallery, Perc Tucker Gallery or one of the CityLibraries branches and visit the Da Vinci Machines clues at four locations around the city.

Decipher the code at each location and submit your entry form by January 27.

The winner will be announced on February 2.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle said the competition was a fun way to learn about history and the genius of da Vinci, while exploring the city.

“What a fun way to get out and about with the kids and teach them about history, and what a fantastic prize on offer,” Cr Doyle said.

“I encourage everyone to participate in the competition and to visit the Da Vinci Machines exhibition at Pinnacles Gallery, Riverway, before February 13.”
