Applications open for community, cultural and sporting grants

Townsville City Council is encouraging community groups and individuals seeking financial assistance through sponsorship to apply now.
Applications through the Community Grants program opened today with funding available for:
Cultural Grants:
* Regional Arts Development Fund
* Community Heritage Grants
Community Grants:
* Community Capacity Building Grants Program (including Partnerships and Sponsorships, Community Organisation Support and Community Cultural Awareness)
* Festival and Events Grant Program
Sport and Recreation – Get Active Grants
* Elite Sportsperson Grants (individual and team)
* Club Capacity Building Grants
In addition to these, applicants are able to apply at any time for:
* Community Micro Grants
* Mayor’s Community Assistance Fund
* Waiver of Council Venue and Park Hire Fees (Townsville City Council Facilities)
* Elite Sportsperson Grants (individual and team)
Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle encouraged residents to apply.
“The Community Grants program provides financial assistance to community organisations and individuals and is a great way to get a project or idea off the ground or improve the capacity of a club or organisation,” Cr Doyle said.
