City's best neighbours recognised

The winners of Townsville City Council’s Friendliest Neighbour Competition will be recognised at an event in Townsville Bulletin Square tomorrow.

Council received more than 60 entries in the competition, with 10 winners selected.

The competition is in the lead up to national Neighbour Day on March 26.

The local winners will receive $100 IGA vouchers to spend on barbecue supplies to host a feast in their street on the day.

Councillor Colleen Doyle thanked everyone who shared their wonderful stories about their neighbourhoods.

“It is really inspiring to hear about some of the fantastic neighbourly relationships that exist in our community,” she said.
