Registrations for Welcoming Babies Ceremony open

Date published: 9 May 2017

Parents of Townsville’s newest residents are encouraged to register their little bundles of joy for the next Welcoming Babies Ceremony to be held at Townsville Stadium on Sunday, June 25.

Parents have the choice of three ceremonies – 9am, 10.15am and 11.30am.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle said the Welcoming Babies Ceremony was very popular with parents.

“Our sessions often book out, so I encourage families to register soon for this lovely ceremony to welcome their precious newborns,” Cr Doyle said.

“The ceremony is a beautiful way for parents and their families to celebrate the birth of their newest family member.”

Each baby welcomed will receive a welcoming certificate, a plant and a gift bag. The baby must be 13 months old or younger at the time of the ceremony to be registered for this event.

There will also be free family entertainment, a professional photographer and baby and family related stalls and displays.

To register visit council’s website at www.townsville.qld.gov.au

Registrations close Friday, June 9 at 5pm.
