Be my Valentine, meow and furever

Add some love to your life this Valentine’s Day with Townsville City Council’s half-price cat and kitten adoption sale.

The sale offers 50 per cent off all cats at Townsville City Council’s Animal Care and Adoption Centre throughout the month of February.

Community Health and Environment Committee chairperson Maurie Soars said a number of animals at the Centre were hoping to find their soulmates to live happily ever after with.

“Throughout the month of February, the Animal Care and Adoption Centre is reducing the price of their felines who have a heart ready to give love to their forever families,” Cr Soars said.

“These cats and kittens are all de-sexed, wormed, microchipped and have had their first vaccination, so they’re ready to head straight home as soon as they’ve found the right family for them.”

Cr Soars said it was important to make sure all animals at the Centre had a good chance of being taken into loving homes.

“While the sale includes cats and kittens, we do have a number of other animals available for adoption through the ACAC and I would love to see them all go to loving homes,” he said.

“These animals haven’t chosen to end up at our Animal Care and Adoption Centre, so we want to be able to find them new families and homes as quickly as we can.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re single, a couple or a family with children, there’s a cat, dog or even a bird that will be a perfect fit for your home.

“Before you visit, make sure you check out the profiles of each animal on the Animal Care and Adoption Centre webpage. These profiles tell you a little bit about each animal, including their breed, their age and some of their personality traits, and make sure to call through prior to arrange an appointment.”

Council’s Cat and Kitten sale runs until 28 February 2022.
