Weekend Opening Hours are changing from 4 July 2026 at all Citylibraries branches.

We're updating our weekend opening hours to better match when you visit and use our services.

These changes mean our staff will be more available during our busiest times to support you.

  • Citylibraries Aitkenvale - Saturday: 9am - 1pm, Sunday: 9am - 1pm

  • Citylibraries Flinders Street - Saturday: 9am - 12pm, Sunday: 9am - 12pm

  • Citylibraries Riverway - Saturday: 9am - 3pm, Sunday: 9am - 3pm

Public Holiday Closure

All Townsville Citylibraries branches will be closed on 6 July 2026 for the public holiday.

All library branches re-open at 9am on 7 July 2026.

We are always open online.

Opening Hours

Citylibraries Aitkenvale Creative Hub is currently available during Citylibraries Aitkenvale’s opening hours:

  • Monday, Thursday, Friday: 9am to 6pm
  • Tuesday, Wednesday: 9am to 8pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 3pm
  • Sunday: 9am to 3pm
  • Closed on public holidays

Citylibraries Aitkenvale Makerspace

The Citylibraries Aitkenvale Makerspace has the following equipment and resources:

  • Blender, LightBurn and Prusa Slicer on a design PC (x1)
  • CriCut Maker 3 (x1)
  • Prusa MK4 3D Printer (3x) with free PLA and PETG filament

Citylibraries Aitkenvale Digital Studio

The Citylibraries Aitkenvale Digital Studio seats two, and has the following equipment and resources:

  • KRK audio speakers
  • PC (x2) with editing software
  • RØDE headphones (x2)
  • RØDECaster PodMics (x2)
  • RØDECaster Pro II Audio Interface (can have up to 4 audio in and 4 audio out if you’d like to bring your own instruments.)

Note: Video equipment has been removed from this space.
