Townsville is getting into the Fire’s Finals Fever and displaying it’s true colours at one of the city’s biggest roundabouts.

A huge JCU Townsville Fire flag was raised this morning on the University Road roundabout at Douglas this morning ahead of Friday’s crucial WNBL finals play-off against the Perth Lynx at Townsville RSL Stadium.
Flying the flag above the Douglas roundabout will mean thousands of motorists will see the Fire’s colours in the lead-up to the big game.

Townsville mayor Cr Jenny Hill urged residents to get behind the Fire in their shot at back to back national league titles.

“The Fire are just a win away from bringing home back to back national leagues for Townsville,” Cr Hill said.
“It’s even better that they have a chance of sealing the title here in their home town in front of their loyal fans.”

The Townsville City Council has made arrangements with the club to stage a  community reception for the Fire players at Townsville Bulletin Square at 11am on Sunday during the Cotters Markets should they win on Friday night.
