Date published: 18 November 2016

Townsville’s history in performing arts and film will be the topic of the very last T150 Yarns Series to be held at the Townsville Civic Theatre next week.

Townsville Yarns is a series of engaging story-telling events presented by a panel of local and visiting identities and is part of Townsville City Council’s T150 calendar of events celebrating the city’s 150th birthday.

This yarns discussion, to be held after Morning Melodies on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 22 and 23, will uncover and celebrate some of the city’s wonderful performers and performances over the past 150 years.

Come along and join in as part of the audience. Attendance is free and light lunch will be provided prior to the session at 12.30pm. The sessions commence at 1.30pm on each day.

T150 Yarns Series – 150 Years of Stage and Screen will be held November 22 and 23 from 1.30-2.30pm at the Townsville Civic Theatre.

Other topics covered over the year have included natural disasters, Townsville as a garrison city and Townsville’s greatest sporting achievements.

The T150 Yarns Series is presented in partnership with ABC North Queensland.
