Help Townsville shine this Clean Up Australia Day

Date published: 1 March 2024

Lend the environment a helping hand this Clean Up Australia Day by joining Townsville City Council’s event at Soroptimist Park, Belgian Gardens on Sunday 3 March.

The free community event is your chance to enhance your local natural environment while having fun with family and friends.

A Council spokesperson said all the gear residents needed would be provided on the day.

“To take part in Council’s Clean Up Australia Day event at Soroptimist Park, just come down at 8am with sun-safe clothing, enclosed shoes and a wide-brimmed hat,” the spokesperson said.

“Clean up bags and gloves will be provided, and we’ll be handing out complimentary refreshments and a free native plant to take home as a thank you.

“If you can’t make it to our event, you can register your own Clean Up Australia Day event by visiting Clean Up Australia Day’s website. Each registered event is mailed a clean up kit to use on the day.”
