It’s your last chance to apply for $1000 for your not-for-profit organisation to host an event to celebrate this festive season.
Christmas Together in the Community is a Townsville City Council initiative to bring community organisations and their attendees together during the holidays.
Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said there were still a few days left to apply.
“Christmas is the perfect time of year to gather as a community and spend quality time with each other, which is why Council is encouraging connections with the Christmas Together in the Community initiative,” Cr Greaney said.
“Not-for-profit organisations can apply for $1000 in funding to host an event that will foster friendship these holidays.
“Applying is easy, just jump onto Council’s website and tell us how you will bring people together, connect with your community and reduce loneliness this festive season.”
Michael Martini from the Cungulla Recreational Fishing and Social Club said the club’s 2024 Christmas Together in the Community event was a hit.
“We have conducted the Cungulla Family Christmas Party over the past couple of years and this has become a highly anticipated event which brings together our community,” Mr Martini said.
“The Cungulla Fishing and Social Club has a long history - in excess of 20 years - of bringing together locals to share good the times and help each other when times are difficult.”
Applications for Christmas Together in the Community are open until 11:59pm this Friday 14 November 2025. For more information, visit the Christmas Together in the Community page.
