Venues available for every occasion

Townsville City Council is inviting community groups, businesses and residents to explore its diverse range of venues available for regular or casual hire across the city.

Council‑managed community facilities cater to meetings, celebrations, training sessions, performances, expos and more - providing flexible, affordable spaces to support local activities and events.

Mayor Nick Dametto said the accessibility of Council’s venues play an important role in supporting Townsville’s social, cultural and economic life.

“Our community thrives when people come together, and these venues provide the perfect spaces for that to happen,” Cr Dametto said.

“Whether it’s a family celebration, a community workshop or a local business event, Council’s facilities are here to support the people of Townsville.

“We’re proud to offer a wide range of well‑maintained, versatile spaces across the city. By making it easier to book and access these venues, we’re helping create more opportunities for locals to connect, collaborate and celebrate.”

Council’s Venues for Hire portal showcases nine community centres across the city and specialised facilities that can be booked online through Bookable.

Division 10 Councillor Brady Ellis said among the facilities on offer is the Wulguru Community Centre, one of the largest Council‑run community centres in Townsville.

“The Wulguru Community Centre is surrounded by parkland, has plenty of parking, and features a huge parquetry‑floor hall, kitchen facilities, and capacity for up to 150 people,” Cr Ellis said.

“People often don’t realise that these facilities are available to the public, but the reality is these places exist for our community - so I encourage people to jump online and see what’s on offer.”

Additional Council venues support a wide variety of uses, with fees and charges varying by facility. Assistance is available through Council’s Venues Team for any booking enquiries.
