Trail Camera Program Privacy Collection Notice
Townsville City Council collects and manages personal information while carrying out its activities, functions and duties.
Council uses surveillance and monitoring devices within natural areas to support environmental management activities, including pest animal and fauna monitoring, and to detect unlawful activities, including unauthorised vehicle access, illegal dumping, camping, and other prohibited activities. These devices may incidentally capture identifiable images, video and/or audio recordings of individuals who enter the area.
Any personal information collected will be managed in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld). Information collected through this program will be used for environmental monitoring, research, conservation and land management purposes. Personal information will only be accessed by authorised Council officers and will not be disclosed outside Council unless authorised or required by law.
