RADF workshops kick off for Townsville
Date published: 21 August 2025
Artists and community groups across Townsville can now take part in three workshops designed to guide and help Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) applicants.
Townsville City Council delivers RADF grants in partnership with Arts Queensland, supporting local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
RADF Round 1 2025/26 opens on Monday 1 September.
Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said Council was running two online information sessions and an in-person session ahead of the round opening.
“RADF grant funding is so valuable to our community, helping to bring arts events, workshops and projects to life across Townsville,” Cr Greaney said.
“To make the grant application process a little less daunting, Council is hosting information sessions for potential applicants alongside the Regional Arts Service Network.
“The first two sessions will be held tonight and next Friday, 29 August from 6pm to 7pm and will be online, so you can access them from the comfort of your own home.
“Our third session will be in person from 10:30am to midday on Saturday 30 August at Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts on Flinders Street.
“These sessions are free to attend, so jump online to register now.”
In May this year Council awarded a combined $55,046.45 in funding as part of RADF Round 2 2024/25, with seven groups and artists receiving support towards their projects.
RADF applications are reviewed by a panel to make sure projects will be beneficial for the wider Townsville community.
