Residents invited to grants information sessions

Date published: 18 January 2016

Community groups and individuals seeking financial assistance through council’s Community Grants and Sponsorship Scheme are invited to attend information sessions at Townsville RSL Stadium in February.

The sessions will be a chance to gain an understanding of the community grants process, learn more about funding opportunities available through council and learn handy hints on writing a grant application.

The Community Grants workshop will be held from 3-4pm and the Sport and Recreation Grants workshop will be from 5.30-6.30pm on Wednesday, February 3.

Community and Culture Committee chair Cr Sue Blom encouraged residents to attend.

“The Community Grants and Sponsorships Scheme provides financial assistance to community organisations and individuals and is a great way to get an activity, club or idea off the ground,” Cr Blom said.

“These workshops provide practical information such as how to apply and the processing and acquittal of community grants.”
