RADF Committee Applications close Friday

Date published: 28 August 2018

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is looking for applications for new committee members.

Applications are open now until Friday 31 August – successful applicants will help develop and promote the RADF program, and recommend how funding should be distributed throughout the arts community in Townsville.

RADF is a joint partnership between Townsville City Council and the Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland and is designed to invest in arts and cultural experiences based on community needs.

RADF Committee Chair Councillor Margie Ryder said this is a fantastic opportunity for community members to be involved in decision-making processes.

“RADF Committee members are able to really make a positive impact on the Townsville arts community – this includes through deciding how funding is given out, and by being able to provide valuable advice to Council,” Cr Ryder said.

“Committee members also gain access to training and upskilling, and will connect with other like-minded professionals so it’s great for personal development.”

In 2018, there were 17 community groups or projects that were recipients of funding made available by the RADF grants.

Arts and cultural organisations and individuals are encouraged to apply.
