Education & Tours

All school tours and classroom bookings are delivered as per Queensland Education Guidelines. Staff are operating under our COVID-safe eco-catchments tours plans, that are provided to all schools once booking is confirmed.

Townsville City Council offers free Education Tours to schools, TAFE, university groups, businesses, and the wider community. The Resource Recovery team offer tours to our Material Recovery Facility to help our community understand where the material in our yellow-lidded recycling bin ends up, as well as classroom visits to discuss waste and recycling with students.

Townsville Resource Recovery curates their waste education sessions to strengthen knowledge of correct waste and recycling behaviours and promote Council’s resource recovery services. The education sessions support outcomes within the Australian curriculum whilst fostering a sense of environmental care and intrigue for solutions.
