Sewer Main Relocation Investigation
Townsville City Council in partnership with a local contractor Jacobs, is planning to undertake geotechnical investigations for the potential sewer main relocation around Ross River Road in Aitkenvale and Mundingburra.
This project is part of Council’s broader long-term investment in water and wastewater systems. It contributes to the city’s Capital Works Program, which is focused on maintaining our community’s water and wastewater infrastructure in optimal condition.
As part of this project, Council will:
- drill test pits, deep boreholes and shallow boreholes
- restore disturbed areas upon completion.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and flashing lights
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, on-street parking restrictions, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.

Project funded by Townsville City Council in partnership with Jacobs.
