Surveying Works

Townsville City Council will be undertaking survey and on ground investigations works primarily within the centre median of Sturt Street, Townsville City. These investigations will guide the preliminary design of future infrastructure upgrades.

This project forms part of Council’s annual design program, which aims to maintain Council managed infrastructure assets to ensure the community’s connectivity needs are met and continue to support the growth of our region.

As part of the works, Council will undertake survey and investigational activities along Sturt Street between the following intersections:

• Denham and Stokes Streets
• Stanley and Blackwood Streets
• Stokes and Stanley Streets.

If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• surveyors and investigation services team working within the road corridor
• temporary traffic changes, including on-street parking closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
