Shade Structure Maintenance

Council is undertaking infrastructure maintenance and refurbishment works on six shade structures located adjacent to Strand Park on The Strand.

This project forms part of Council’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure management, identifying the need for maintenance works that enhance community assets and preserve open spaces in good condition.

As part of this project, Council will:

• undertake detailed maintenance work on the structure to ensure an ongoing safe and optimal shaded seating area for the community
• Council staff will oversee and manage any environmental reinstatement work resulting from these operations.

If you visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• temporary closure of a section of the six shade structures, as indicated overleaf
• increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour.

Three structures will be closed at one time, and once the work is complete, they will reopen.
