CityLibraries to host Project Booyah Coffee Caddy

Date published: 15 September 2016

Visitors to CityLibraries Thuringowa this Thursday will have the opportunity to purchase a coffee from the Project Booyah Coffee Caddy.

The caddy is run by at-risk teenagers who are learning life skills and how to build resilience.

Council’s Community and Cultural Development Committee chair Cr Colleen Doyle said by purchasing a coffee from the caddy, visitors were giving back to the community.

“Project Booyah provides a structured community inclusive program which mentors and provides support to youth to build their sense of self-worth and show them a more positive pathway,” Cr Doyle said.

“Council is proud to be able to support the project by hosting the caddy at the library.

“By supporting these youths, we can contribute to their development and show that we support them to become the best that they can be.”

The Booyah Bean Team allows youth to put into practice newly learnt skills and raises much-needed funds to ensure further development longevity for the program.

The caddy will be at the library from 8am to 11am during the early childhood library program which runs on Thursdays.

A free babycino is available with every drink purchased.
