Strand Rock Pool closed

The Strand Rock Pool is closed until further notice, following the detection of an algal bloom in the bay.

Townsville City Council crews detected the Trichodesmium Algal Bloom during a high tide and routine cleaning.

The Rock Pool will reopen once the water quality in the bay improves and the pool can be refilled.

Council thanks the community for their co-operation and patience during this time.
