Council Waste Services operational

Date published: 5 February 2019

Waste facilities at Stuart and Hervey Range are now open and will remain open until normal closure times unless it becomes unsafe.

Magnetic Island will reopen as scheduled tomorrow.

Residents are asked to only visit the dump if it is absolutely necessary, to minimise traffic on the road.

Stuart Landfill is open and accessible via the Port Access Rd and Stuart Dr.

Two temporary food waste dumps are open at Bunnings Domain Central and North Shore for residents to dispose of food waste. These sites will be open until 6pm today unless deemed unsafe.

Council’s normal rubbish collections will continue for households on streets not impacted by flooding.

Residents are asked to put their bins on the kerbside or in an area of the street unaffected by floodwaters by 6am to allow for collection.

Council crews are working hard to return to normal services.
