Paluma bookings moved to new system
Date published: 5 February 2021
Campers looking to head up to Paluma Dam can now book through Townsville City Council’s new online booking system.
The new booking system, Bookable, went live in November last year and it is expected that bookings for any Council-managed venues and spaces will be moved onto the platform later in the year.
Local councillor Margie Ryder said Paluma is always a popular camping destination over the holidays.
“Paluma is a much-loved camping destination for both locals and visitors to the region with a beautiful landscape and plenty of activities within a short distance of the campgrounds,” Cr Ryder said.
“Integrating the bookings for Paluma Dam into our new platform will make it easier for residents to find available campgrounds for any of our sites, rather than jumping between platforms.
“Bookable allows campers to see the site they’re booking and includes details like how far away the site is from amenities and water, which is very helpful for anyone who hasn’t visited the campgrounds before.
“Bookable has been working well and more than 1000 reservations have been made through the portal since it launched in November last year.”
Bookings are now essential. To reserve a campground in Balgal Beach, Bluewater, Rollingstone, Saunders Beach, Toomulla or the Paluma Dam, visit https://townsville.bookable.net.au/.
