Ross River Bank Stabilisation Works

Council is undertaking riverbank stabilisation works along the Ross River, in the vicinity of Wes Barrett Park between Mizuno View and Riverwood Drive, Oonoonba.

This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to environmental management, which has identified the need to mitigate the effects of recent weather events and enhance the resilience of Ross River.

These works complement earlier stabilisation works completed in the nearby area and will address the existing riverbank erosion cost effectively, with minimal impact to residents.

As part of this project, Council will:

  • install stabilising elements
  • fill localised erosion scours
  • revegetate the area using local native estuarine species.

If you live near or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • footpath closures
  • increased levels of dust, noise, vibrations and occasional odour.
