Slope Risk Assessment

What works are coming up?

Townsville City Council has identified four (4) key slopes along the Magnetic Island road network that require remediation to ensure safety and long‑term stability. As part of this work, Council will be carrying out detailed slope risk assessments at each of the proposed locations. Further information will be shared with the community as we get closer to the start of works.

What will the works include?

As part of this project, Council will:

• Carry out on‑foot surveys to collect detailed data at each site
• Undertake geotechnical investigations

What does this mean for me?

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• Contractor personnel and vehicle movement
• Temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits

Funding

Project funded by Townsville City Council.
A local contractor, Jacobs, is delivering these works on behalf of Council.
