Maintenance Works

Council is preparing to undertake detailed drainage and infrastructure maintenance works on Ewen Jones Bridge, also known as Blakey’s Crossing, on Ingham Road, Garbutt.

This project supports Council’s commitment to community safety by improving roads, transport infrastructure, parks, and water systems. These works ensure essential connectivity is maintained while supporting the continued growth of our region.

As part of this project, Council will:

• undertake detailed cleaning of all drainage infrastructure on the bridge
• complete required maintenance of the connectivity asset to ensure optimal safety and serviceability.

If you visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including land closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.

To ensure the works are delivered safely and efficiently, a temporary road closure will be in place within the work zone on Ingham Road, from Mather Street to Duckworth Street. Signed detours will be provided.
