Riverway Stadium Irrigation Renewal

Townsville City Council will be renewing all on-field irrigation with a more efficient system designed to reduce water consumption while improving operational performance and ongoing maintenance.

This project reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to delivering parks, sporting fields, recreational spaces, and inspirational gardens that support the health, wellbeing, and enjoyment of our community.

As part of this project, Council will:

• remove the existing on-field irrigation assets
• install new on-field irrigation system, including associated water infrastructure assets
• rectify the disturbed turf areas.

If you live near, visit or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• construction machinery and vehicle movement
• increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
• temporary traffic changes, including lane and parking closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
