Sewer Diversion Project
What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council is preparing to commence a sewer diversion project along Whitehouse Street.
The project is to replace aging infrastructure that is no longer accessible to maintain. The work will increase resilience of the sewer network during wet weather.
What will the works include?
As part of these works Council will:
- manage traffic along Whitehouse Street
- use heavy machinery for excavation of road shoulder
- construct sewer manholes and pipework
- re-instate road sub-grade and road pavement
What does this mean for me?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary disruptions to vehicle access to properties and some on street parking
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
Funding
Project funded by the Townsville City Council.
