Pathway Upgrade
UPDATE (01st August 2025)
Pathway upgrade works fronting Tide Café, Hartley Partners, and the Osk Bar on Gregory Street (west side) are nearing completion.
Acid washing, sealing of the path and replacement of fixtures will commence from Monday 4 August 2025.
Water main set up and cut in replacement works on Eyre Street and Gregory Street (east side) will commence from Monday 4 August 2025.
Additionally, a further water disruption will occur on Wednesday 6 August 2025, from 11pm to 5am. These activities will affect Domino's, McDonald's and Grandma's along Eyre Street, as well as the Northward Shopping Precinct, including Coles.
Pathway upgrade works along Eyre Street are anticipated to commence on Monday 18 August 2025 and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
As part of the pathway works Council will:
- remove existing pavers
- excavate and prepare paths
- set-up form work for concrete pours
- pour concrete.
Water works will include:
- temporarily shutting off the water supply
- isolating the water main and undertaking cut- ins
- reinstating the water service.
When Council restores the water supply, it may initially appear discoloured. To address this, run taps until the discolouration disappears.
Furthermore, we recommend turning off automatic machines that utilise water in their operation during this time.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including lane closures, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits
- temporary loss of on-street parking and disruption to the outdoor dining areas.
