Stormwater Drainage Upgrade
Council is undertaking flooding and drainage improvement upgrades along Winifred Street, with the first stage taking place at the
intersection of Winifred Street and Love Lane in Mundingburra.
This project is part of Council’s annual road maintenance program, designed to address structural deficiencies and enhance drainage across Council controlled road networks. The aim is to improve safety, reduce maintenance costs, and raise the quality of life for residents.
As part of this project, Council will:
- construct and install underground stormwater pipes at the intersection
- renew identified manhole access pits and construct additional access pits
- renew sections of the associated kerb and channel and replace road pavement impacted by these works.
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- construction machinery and vehicle movement
- increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
- temporary traffic changes, including road closures, detours, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.
Council advises that due to the nature of these works, a road closure will be in place, with clearly signed detours throughout works.
This project is proudly funded by Townsville City Council.
