Roundabout Sign Reinstatement

What works are coming up?
Townsville City Council is preparing to commence a roundabout sign reinstatement on Flinders Street, Townsville City. These works will occur outside of Rambutan and there will be a stop and go with traffic controllers redirecting traffic. There will be no lane closures.

This project is part of Council’s annual Roadworks program, which aims to maintain our Council controlled road network to ensure the community’s transportation needs are adequately met and continue to support the growth of our region.

What will the works include?
As part of these works Council will:

  • replace the existing roundabout direction sign with the new updated one
  • have a stop and go with traffic controllers to redirect any traffic around the works.

What does this mean for me?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

  • construction machinery and vehicle movement
  • increased levels of dust, noise, and vibrations
  • temporary disruptions to vehicle access to properties and some on street parking
  • temporary traffic changes, minor traffic delays and reduced speed limits.

Funding
Project funded by the Townsville City Council.
